For Immediate Release: September 11, 2003

Positive Sound Massive Recordings, Olive Tree Music LTD, and Poetz4Peace present a genuinely innovative way to make every voice heard in this amazing time of change in our world. As all people around the world know, the internet has become, and will continue to be a great way to join together and create, using state of the art technology, to share ideas and grab the ears of positive like- minded people in a position to make a difference. With this concept of a "Cyber Remix for Peace," we hope to create a platform for all voices to heard across the four corners of the earth, sharing each other's pains and triumphs, and to this end uniting millions through music.

Event Overview

The following is an idea that has been many years in the making. Today, with the internet in so many homes and in so many public places, home based audio programs in many households, and a general want for all people on earth to share in a "global citizen" approach, it is indeed the time for this type of a positive, global project like this.

The initial event will take place online on the 15th of October, 2003 at

The project kicks off with a virtual record release party hosted by PSM and OTM for Poetz4Peace and the release of their debut album "A Pair Of Olive Leaves", due out worldwide that day. This online release event will feature samples of the album available in Mp3 format, an overview of the album, its lyrics and its very interesting history, CD giveaways, and a chat session with Poetz core members Haji Mike, Zeki Ali, and Stand Out Selector. This event will be promoted via the internet through online radio stations, "peace" promoting websites, message boards, and through a major grassroots email campaign.

The entire event will last 3 hours and will be the springboard for the "Cyber Remix for Peace" concept. One of Poetz4Peace's songs on "A Pair of Olive Leaves" is called "Down By The Greenline" and features Rocker-T, an international reggae artist, and Cypriot singer Kyppa Ranks. The lyrics of this song were adapted from a late 1800's African American spiritual "Down by the Riverside" which was revamped and used by the anti-war effort in the late 1960's. The subject matter of this year 2003 Poetz remake is the dreaded "Greenline" that divides the island republic of Cyprus. Its catchy chorus, "I ain't gonna study war no more..." rings as true today as ever.

Poetz and Olive Tree Music will provide an entirely instrumental version of this track (as well as all of the sounds that make up the track) to the general public, in both audio and data formats, for download by everyone who chooses to be a part of this groundbreaking project. With the widespread use of home studios and self-contained music production programs, this project is open to everyone from professionals to "bedroom" producers. There is no cost to be included in this monumental event. Participants will have one month to work with the track, adding their own vocals and instrumentation, and submitting a final version via mp3 to a host site. A group of international musicians and producers will evaluate all of the submissions over the next month, and submit all of the final tracks to the United Nations via a multi CD compilation, broken down by country of origin.

In this way, this project is totally interactive and uses a theme that exists in every person's every day life, namely division, to get their voice heard. The contest will accept all versions of a Remix, or Redo of "Down By the Riverside/Greenline" and will even check out totally original songs with the subject of "what's bugging' me about the world around me." Although there is no cash prize offered for this contest, it will be amazing to see how many people around the world have some comment or viewpoint about their current life situation. Utimately it will serve a much bigger purpose by being played for members of the United Nations, one of the largest international bodies actually actively looking for answers in mankind's eternal quest for a lasting worldwide peace.

Many of these songs, and many of the musicians who will submit, may provide the UN with an accurate picture of major issues in their own homelands, which would take years to unravel at the hand of political means. With this simple concept, "Tell us what's on your mind", people will have a way to spawn their own versions of "Poetz4Peace" and inspire other youth around them to speak up and have there voices heard. This "Cyber Remix for Peace" gives everyone, young or old, rich or poor, rapper or singer, poet or trombone player, a chance to make a statement about their own dreaded "Greenline".
